SECOND PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The Town of Bronson plans to apply to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) for a Community Development Block Grant-Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) of $5,000,000.00. For each activity that is proposed, at least 70% of the funds must benefit low-and-moderate income persons. The activities, dollar amounts and estimated percentage benefit to low-and-moderate income persons for which the Town of Bronson is applying are:

Service Area #1 Service Area and Project Area:

The activities to be carried out in Project Area #1 are as follows:

The Town does not have a socially-distanced walkway corridor to the local elementary, middle and high schools located along CR 32 (Ishie Avenue/NE 90th Street). Residential areas exist toward the west and southwest areas of the schools that include families that walk or bicycle to school.

To facilitate a socially distanced corridor that is constructed away from roadway traffic, the Town is proposing to construct 6-foot wide concrete or asphalt pathways in three residential areas to connect to the existing sidewalk on CR 32 near the schools. The three areas are listed below:

• CR 32 (Deer Trail to CR 337/North Court Street)
• SR 24/Thrasher Drive to CR 32/Ishie Avenue
• CR 32B/Marshburn Drive from CR 32/Ishie Avenue to SR 24/Thrasher Drive.

The proposed project budget is as follows:

The Town of Bronson does not anticipate that anyone will be displaced as a result of CDBG-CV funded activities. If any persons are displaced as a result of these planned activities, the Town of Bronson will assist as described in the Town’s anti-displacement and relocation policy, which is available for review at Town Hall.

A public hearing to provide citizens an opportunity to comment on the application will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible at the Town of Bronson Town Hall, Town Council Meeting Room, 650 Oak Street, Bronson, Florida. If you wish to attend the Town Council Meeting virtually, via Zoom (www.zoom.com), the log in meeting ID is 997 8595 4019. A draft copy of the application will also be available for review during normal business hours at the Town of Bronson Town Hall located at 650 Oak Street, Bronson, Florida by noon on Friday, October 22, 2021. Persons wanting to submit written comments on the application should send them to Ms. Sue Beaudet, Town Manager by email at townmanager@townofbronson.org. or by mail to Town of Bronson, P.O. Box 266 Bronson, FL 32621-0266 no later than Friday, October 29, 2021.

A copy of the final application will be available for review at the Town of Bronson Town Hall, no later than Monday, November 1, 2021. The application will be submitted to DEO on or before Monday, November 1, 2021. La ciudad de Bronson planea solicitar al Departamento de Oportunidades Económicas de Florida (DEO) una Subvención en Bloque de Desarrollo Comunitario-Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) de $ 5,000,000.00. Por cada actividad que se proponga, al menos el 70% de los fondos deben beneficiar a personas de ingresos bajos y moderados. Las actividades, los montos en dólares y el beneficio porcentual estimado para las personas de ingresos bajos y moderados para los cuales la Ciudad de Bronson está solicitando son:

Las actividades a realizar en el Área de Proyecto #1 son las siguientes:

La ciudad no tiene un corredor de pasarela socialmente distanciado a las escuelas primarias, intermedias y secundarias locales ubicadas a lo largo de CR 32 (Ishie Avenue / NE 90th Street). Existen áreas residenciales hacia las áreas oeste y suroeste de las escuelas que incluyen familias que caminan o andan en bicicleta a la escuela.

Para facilitar un corredor socialmente distanciado que se construye lejos del tráfico de la carretera, la Ciudad propone construir caminos de concreto o asfalto de 6 pies de ancho en tres áreas residenciales para conectarse a la acera existente en CR 32 cerca de las escuelas. Las tres áreas se enumeran a continuación:

• CR 32 (Deer Trail a CR 337/North Court Street)
• SR 24/Thrasher Drive a CR 32/Ishie Avenue
