2026-2027 Water/Sewer Fund Budget
As a municipality in Florida, by statutory requirement, the Town of Bronson was required to conduct an exercise in budget reduction. Specifically, the Town must show that a 10% budget reduction can be achieved without compromising essential services.
Under Florida Statutes §166.241(3)(b), cities and counties must:
- Hold a budget workshop at least 14 days before final budget adoption. The Town of Bronson’s was held on Aug. 17, 2026. A final budget will be adopted Sept. 22, 2026.
- Perform a budget reduction exercise to show how the budget could be reduced by 10%.
- Post the exercise on our official website or link to a recording Florida League of Cities.
- The exercise is hypothetical — it does not represent approved cuts, but rather strategies for planning purposes.
By taking state grants and essential services, such as 522.000 Fire Control, out of the budget, achieving a 10% reduction would mean removing $90,000. Please see the chart for those areas that can be reduced to achieve that amount.
